On March 27, 1982 track 2, the eastbound main was closed for "maintenence" between Chester, MP126 and the Hinsdale crossovers at MP 140 resulting in a single track bottleneck on the east slope of Washington hill. At 12:06 in Chester we see some of the results as SPSE7X cools his heels on track 1 at right waiting for eastbound traffic, this time in the form of Amtrak 448, who has just crossed over from track 1 to 2. Helper 6478 also waits in the siding at left.
