Conrail OCS's last hurrah thru the canyon on this trip!!! CR OCS-112 with CR 4020 & 4021 and 6 cars heads north on the Corning Secondary to Corning and on to Lyons, NY, then east on the old NYC main. Further south, the train has come thru the scenic "Grand Canyon of Pennsylvania", and in 72 days, the last thru trains would travel thru the canyon. The line from Wellsboro Junction to Jersey Shore, PA would be abandoned and only the rail trains lifting the rail south from Wellsboro Junction would be the final trains through the canyon. By late spring of 1989, Conrail's work was done!
