Former Southern Crescent E-8A's 4331 (ex-SR 6907) and 4330 (ex-SR 6914) came to NJDOT in 1980. Following years of service for the Southern Railway, and Amtrak from 1978 to 1980, the E-8A's would operate in NJ for about a year until their retirment as part of CR's NJDOT contract passenger operations.
