CR 2181 GP30 sets in the deadline at Rutherford Yard with many other older locomotives that were predecessor to Conrail. Looks like the end might be near for CR 2181.
But not so fast, there's a future for CR 2181!
CR 2181 started out as RDG 5513, the first production GP30 built by EMD, then renumbered RDG 3613 CR 2181. Then the BM&R acquired 5513, then the Reading Company Technical & Historical Society gained ownership of 5513.
