CR train #454, South Chicago, IL 7-1-1976

Conrail Train No. 454 (one of the Valpo Dummies) is about to overtake an eastbound Chicago Short Line train at the Calumet River bridge South Chicago, IL, in July 1976. This spot was called River Branch Jct(MP 454.7) by the PRR and PC until being renamed by Conrail as CP509. Doug Davidson photo with permission
