Conrail made some strange bedfellows...witness this Peoria and Eastern pup along with a Lehigh Valley RS-3 at the former LV yard in Buffalo in July 1976. The 8904 would retain the same number under Conrail, and you have to love the "New York Central" lettering showing through.
