CR 53525 at Strawberry Ridge, PA 7/16/1980

Yes, CR 53525 is setting on rails. It is on the runaround siding at the highway crossing. Look closer in the grass in the foreground and you will see evidence of the rails of the track that goes to end of track at MP 14. Track east of PP&L's Montour Steam Electric Station had certainly "gone green" in that era of Conrail. This portion of track in 2022 is now the NS Watsontown Industrial Track and handles unit trains of 90+ cars of synthetic gypsum to USG's Washingtonville Plant. That little runaround siding is gone.
