The "original" Conrail 4020, EL 831 waits with two other E8's in Marion, Ohio in January 1976. It was a pretty nice day for the middle of winter in Ohio, but spring would bring changes to the EL in this location. Note the middle E, the 817. It was the last E on the EL to still have all it's porthole windows. 831 would run for it's new owner, but only for a couple of months, and it never received it's CR number before it was traded in to EMD and scrapped.
